Stretching along 3 1/2 miles of beach and expansive sand dunes just north of Duck, Pine Island borders the Pine Island Audubon Wildlife Refuge. It affords guests the unique opportunity to experience endless views of both the Currituck Sound and the Atlantic Ocean and to enjoy wide, un-crowded Corolla beaches. Pine Island is a highly sought-after community just a short drive from extensive shopping, dining, and recreational offerings including lighthouses, water sports, historical sites, wild horse tours, and other local attractions.
Pine Island also boasts a range of amenities including tennis, basketball, children's playground and bike trails with private roads. Two community pools are available, including a beach club with oceanside pool, bath house, baby pool and organized children's activities. Both pool areas offer access to the beach, restrooms, showers, picnic tables, umbrellas and refreshments. They are available as a comfort stop and beach access for early arrivals while waiting for your home to be available. For a small fee, guests can enjoy a week-long membership to the Pine Island Tennis and Fitness Center (252-453-8525) where lessons are also available.
